My new extravagance - the Hario Skerton- a ceramic burr grinder for coffee beans, powered by hand crank. Now I have freshly ground beans every morning for my French press at the office. A small way to make early work meetings more bearable. In Singapore I got spoiled by my fully automatic espresso maker at home. One button, thirty seconds later I had a perfect espresso from freshly ground beans. Why, oh why, didn't I bring that back to San Diego with me??
